DC Operations Manager - Inbound

Responsible for assisting the distribution center manager in directing the day to day inbound operations of a single distribution center. Assist in the direction of inbound operations in a single distribution center and communicate extensively with the DC Manager on all matters pertaining to inbound operations.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Assist the DC Manager in all inbound operations of a single distribution center including the service, physical assets, operating costs, and team members.

Assist in ensuring that the DC is compliant with company operations, policies and procedures daily.

Assist the DC Manager in maintaining payroll, budgeting, inventory integrity, productivity, etc. of all inbound operations.

Provide training, guidance, and counseling as needed to each inbound team member.

Responsible for the management of a staff of 1-15 supervisors, and up to 300 hourly team members.

Provide excellent leadership throughout the DC and work to ensure productivity and morale are maintained at a high level.

Work with DC manager to establish annual goals for all inbound departments and the plan to follow for accomplishing these goals.

Work closely with DC manager and human resources to support all inbound team members and others as needed to ensure effective recruiting, hiring, and training practices.

Responsible for on time evaluations of all inbound team members.

Assist the DC manager with planning to prepare annual operating budget.

Work with each inbound supervisor to monitor expenditures within the department, and coordinate with the DC manager for approval on any expenditure.

Work with DC manager to obtain approval on all expenses which exceed $1,000.

Provide a safe working environment and aggressively manage all risk and risk related costs.

All other duties as assigned.

SKILLS/EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

Required:

High school graduate or equivalent (GED)

Excellent communication, leadership, and people skills

Above average computer skills

2+ years experience as a distribution center supervisor with proven record of success

Demonstrated ability to manage multiple departments within one center

Desired:

College degree or logistics certification

Fluency in multiple languages (Spanish is highly desired)
