Job Summary

Hoffman Building Technologies is seeking a Business Operations Manager to optimize and streamline our operational processes in HVAC, building automation, and energy solutions . This role will ensure efficient business functions, improve workflow, and drive strategic growth by managing cross-functional teams and operational performance. The ideal candidate has a strong background in operations, project management, and financial oversight within the HVAC, construction, or building technology industries .

Key Responsibilities:

Operational Efficiency & Process Improvement

  • Oversee day-to-day operations to ensure seamless workflow across departments.
  • Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) to enhance productivity and efficiency.
  • Identify bottlenecks in business processes and recommend solutions for improvement.
  • Drive process automation and leverage technology to optimize operations.

Project & Resource Management

  • Collaborate with sales, project management, field service teams, and technicians to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Coordinate service and installation schedules for optimal resource allocation.
  • Monitor supply chain and procurement processes , ensuring materials and equipment arrive on time and within budget.

Financial & Performance Analysis

  • Manage budgets, job costing, and financial reporting to support profitability.
  • Analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) and provide strategic insights for decision-making.
  • Work closely with finance and accounting teams to streamline billing and collections.

Leadership & Team Coordination

  • Lead and mentor operational teams, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and company policies .
  • Drive cross-functional collaboration between sales, service, and administration teams.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in business operations, project management, or a similar role within HVAC, building automation, construction, or related industries .
  • Proficiency in ERP, CRM, project management software, and scheduling tools .
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills .
  • Knowledge of HVAC systems, building automation, and energy solutions is a plus.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while managing multiple priorities.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with building automation systems (BAS), energy management, or smart building technologies .
  • PMP, Six Sigma, or LEED certification is a plus.
  • Familiarity with vendor management and supply chain logistics in HVAC .
